After Dark Talk With Your One & Only

Christmas hits different when you’ve lived enough life to finally enjoy the magic instead of rushing through it.- Treasurable Life

It’s December… and Baby, I’m Ready

Let’s be honest
December don’t just “arrive.”
It walks in slow…
draped in velvet…
smelling like cinnamon, cocoa butter, and peace of mind.

And this year?
I’m embracing it.

The picture says it all
grown-folk Santa, beard seasoned like Sunday dinner,
coat rich like royalty,
eyes giving “yeah, I still got it.”

He ain’t in nobody’s North Pole.
He’s somewhere warm, somewhere joyful, somewhere soft.
Somewhere he earned.

And honestly?
That’s the energy I’m stepping into this month.

Tis the Season for Softness, Sweetness, and Saying No to Stress

December used to be chaos:

Rushing.
Performing.
Overspending.
Pretending everything was merry when I was exhausted.

But now? I’m choosing a different holiday season.
One wrapped in peace, not pressure.

I’m taking my time. I’m protecting my energy.
I’m letting joy come to me naturally not forcing it into a box with a bow.

Because real holiday magic doesn’t come from a store.

It comes from:

A warm house
A full heart
A quiet mind
A good laugh
A plate of cookies you do NOT want to share

Just like Santa in this picture he’s not sharing a single crumb. And I respect it.

First, we met Fine Santa:
the one with the silver beard, the warm eyes, the “I earned this peace” aura.

He reminded us that holiday joy can be mature, cozy, sensual, and soulful.

But then…

Because let’s be honest:

Every holiday season comes with THAT ONE PERSON.

You’re dressed, glowing, ready.
Tree decorated.
Spirit lifted.
Boots fluffy.
Edges laid.

And here they come
arms crossed, face twisted, energy on E,
a whole holiday Hater in HD.

The Grinch in this photo?
He represents:

• the family member who complains all month
• the friend who hates matching PJs
• the partner who didn’t want to take pictures but sits anyway
• the person who acts allergic to joy
• the one who thinks decorations are “doing too much”
• the one who’s over Christmas before it even begins

But the best part?

Sis did not let him block her glow.
At all.

Look at her:
Back straight.
Dress hugging.
Boots giving texture and attitude.
Face saying, “You can be miserable, but I won’t.”

Because some of y’all need to hear this:

Protect your joy from people who refuse to find their own.

This month, decide:

Who gets your energy
Who gets your time
Who gets access to your joy
And who just gets a photo and nothing more

Because the holidays come with love AND boundaries.

And sometimes?
The boundary is simple:

“I’m not matching your bad mood this year.

Until the Next After Dark Talk…

December is still unfolding.
More warmth.
More laughter.
More realness.
More stories from the heart.
More moments where joy wins even with a Grinch on the couch.

Stay tuned
Treasurable Life is just getting started.

And baby… the next one?
It’s going to hit even deeper.
