Running away keeps you tired. Running toward healing makes you free.- Treasurable Life.

Let’s talk about it, y’all. Back in the day, most of us didn’t need a treadmill, a fitness app, or a gym membership to get our daily cardio. Nope we got our running in when Grandma, Mama, or Daddy came around that corner with a switch, belt, or whatever they could grab. You didn’t even have to be an athlete you became one real quick.
Those runs were fueled by fear, survival, and a little bit of rebellion. It wasn’t about pacing yourself or tracking steps it was about making sure you could dodge that sting long enough to feel like you won… even though you knew they were gonna catch you eventually.
But here’s the deeper truth: so many of us are still running. Not from belts or whoopings this time, but from trauma, pain, shame, and memories that still haunt us. We run from relationships, from ourselves, from the hard conversations, and sometimes even from healing because healing asks us to slow down and face what we’ve been trying to outpace for years.
Now, don’t get me wrong walking and running can still be powerful tools. Walking clears the mind. Running relieves stress. Moving our bodies keeps us alive longer. But the most important walk you’ll ever take is the walk back to yourself. The most important run is the run toward healing.
Healing ain’t easy. It requires more endurance than any 5K or marathon. But here’s the good news you don’t have to run it alone. You don’t have to keep running from the shadows of your past. At some point, you have to stop, catch your breath, and say: I’m not running from this anymore I’m running toward freedom.
So I’ll leave you with this question: Are you still running from the whoopings of your past, or are you ready to run toward the healing that’s waiting for you?
Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it.— 1 Corinthians 9:24
Until next time let’s win this race.
