Your worth is not measured by who speaks to you, but by how you speak life into yourself.

There comes a time in your life when you stop chasing conversations, explanations, or the approval of people who never truly saw you. Some people stop talking to you, and it feels like a loss until you realize it’s a release.

We live in a world where people confuse silence with weakness, when in reality, silence is sometimes the loudest answer you can give. You don’t have to explain why you’re no longer available for half-hearted connections or shallow interactions. You don’t owe anyone the energy they took for granted.

The woman in this image? She’s a mood. She’s the reminder that you’re allowed to sip your coffee, read your magazine, and stay unbothered while the world spins with or without your commentary. Because the truth is… you breathe air, not people. You don’t live off their approval, their validation, or their presence.

I’ve learned that the ones who can’t handle your boundaries are usually the ones who benefited from you not having any. And when they stop calling, texting, or speaking? Let them. That’s not rejection that’s protection.

The Weight of My Silence

I am not oxygen for your comfort,
Not a breath you inhale to feel full.
I am the wind that chooses its own direction,
The calm before a storm you cannot control.
If my silence feels heavy,
It’s only because truth weighs more than lies.
And I refuse to carry what isn’t mine.

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. – Romans 12:2

Here’s the raw truth: You are not here to be liked, you are here to be real. You are not here to bend until you break, you are here to stand until you’re solid. Stop treating people’s absence like a loss when in reality, it’s the space you needed for your own growth.

Sometimes God will remove people you thought you needed because He heard conversations you didn’t. He saw things you couldn’t. And while you’re wondering why they left, He’s making room for something better, deeper, and truer.

So breathe. Inhale peace, exhale drama. Inhale purpose, exhale doubt. Your oxygen is not tied to anyone’s opinion of you. And when you really understand that, you’ll find a freedom that no one can take away.

Walk in your truth, even if it means walking alone for a season. The right people will meet you there. And the wrong ones? Let them keep walking you were never meant to share the same air anyway.
