Peace is not the absence of chaos; it’s the presence of God in the middle of it.

Daily writing prompt
What brings you peace?

The roar of the water is deafening and yet, somehow, it is the quietest place I know. It doesn’t just crash; it baptizes. Every drop in the air carries a reminder that nothing stands still forever. The same force that can erode rock is also the same force that can wash the dust from your spirit.

I kneel here, wrapped in gold and white, not because life is easy, but because I’ve learned that surrender is a kind of strength. My hands press together, not in defeat, but in reverence. My eyes close because sometimes the truest vision comes when you stop looking with your eyes.

Peace, for me, is not found in perfect conditions. It’s found here in the mist, in the noise, in the reminder that my God is louder than my storms and gentler than my fears.

The Water Remembers
Bend to the river,
Bow to the fall,
Let the water remind you
It carries it all.

The stones that were heavy,
The weight you once wore,
It sweeps them away
To return nevermore.

The peace isn’t silent,
It thunders and sings,
For the water remembers
All the broken-winged things.

After Dark, I want you to know this peace is not a place you visit, it is a presence you carry. You won’t always find it in quiet rooms or calm seas. Sometimes, peace will meet you in the middle of the noise, drench you in holy mist, and whisper, “I’ve got you.”

So when the world feels too heavy, find your river, your ocean, your waterfall whatever reminds you that you are still here, still breathing, still held. And then, let it wash you clean.
