A woman who knows her worth doesn’t frown to intimidate; she protects her spirit like it’s sacred. Because it is.

You see attitudes.
We see awareness.
You see neck rolls and frowns.
We see boundaries.
You call it intimidating?
We call it intentional.
Don’t let these expressions fool you, this isn’t bitterness.
This is what it looks like when Black women stop shrinking to make others comfortable.
Because the truth is… we’ve seen too much.
We’ve been judged, overlooked, sexualized, doubted, and dismissed.
So now we walk with discernment.
We don’t just show up pretty we show up ready.
Ready to protect our peace, check the energy, and speak up when something’s off
And yeah sometimes that means giving you that look.
That “who sent you?” look.
That “don’t play with me” look.
That “I’ve carried too much to tolerate disrespect” look.
Be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.”
— Matthew 10:16
Don’t mistake my stare for spite,
It’s just my spirit sensing lies.
Been through storms, learned to fight,
Now my presence checks your eyes.
Strong doesn’t mean I’m hard or cold,
It means I know what I deserve.
If my silence makes you fold
You were never built to serve.
This sisterhood is sacred.
We check on each other. We check each other when needed. But we also check the world that tries to check us.
So yes, we’re watching.
We’re guarding our space.
And no, you can’t sit here unless you come with truth, respect, and real energy.
Black women don’t need to soften their tone to be heard.
We don’t need to water ourselves down to be accepted.
We are loud with purpose, bold with love, and rooted in truth.
If the stare makes you uncomfortable, ask yourself why.
Because we’re not angry.
We’re awake.
