Friday Reflections with Treasurable Life
They tried to write my ending in whispers and wounds, but I stood up, opened my mouth, and rewrote it in joy, truth, and fire.”
— Treasurable Life Life

They tried to bury me in shame, but I bloomed in color and danced in truth.
Look at this photo. No, really look.
Do you see pain? Maybe.
Do you see scars? Possibly.
But what overshadows all of that… is pure, undeniable joy.
The kind of joy that wasn’t handed down was fought for.
These women aren’t just smiling. They’re celebrating. They are walking, breathing proof that healing doesn’t mean forgetting, it means reclaiming.
This, right here, is the energy I poured into my memoir Beyond the Shadows. Because the truth is: we don’t just survive trauma… we outdance it.
I didn’t always look like this picture.
I know what it’s like to fake a smile while hiding a heart full of tears.
I’ve danced in public but cried in the shower.
I’ve shown up strong when I felt completely shattered.
But healing has taught me this:
You don’t wait for life to feel good to find joy. You decide to find joy so life doesn’t destroy you.
I wrote Beyond the Shadows not just to share my story, but to ignite yours.
To remind you that even after the abuse, betrayal, silence, and loss, there is still a song inside of you. There is still movement in your soul.
There is still a dance that belongs to you.
God doesn’t just want us to survive, we serve a God who specializes in restoration.
He can turn ashes into beauty, and pain into purpose. But you have to give Him your ashes first.
That’s the real truth. Healing doesn’t start until we stop hiding.
You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy. – Psalm 30:11 (NIV)
When you see that image of those radiant women, laughing, running, free I want you to know:
That can be you.
That can be us.
That’s what Beyond the Shadows is all about.
It’s not just a memoir. It’s a movement.
A call to take your joy back.
To let your scars sing.
To move your body in a world that tried to paralyze you with fear and shame.
This next chapter of your life won’t be quiet.
It will be bold, beautiful, and unapologetically yours.
