Let me start by saying this:
I may not be a man.
And I will never claim to fully understand what it means to walk in a man’s shoes, especially a walk in a man’s shoes, in this world.

But I am a sister.
I am a friend.
And I have brothers whom I deeply love and one whom I’ve lost.

This post is for them.
And for every man who is still here, still fighting battles we rarely get to see.

We live in a world that conditions men to endure instead of express.
To protect instead of process.
To hold it together even when everything is falling apart.

This image… It’s not just art.
It’s a testimony.

It’s the emotional reality of too many men who feel they’re not allowed to break, so they break in silence. Alone. In the dark. Behind closed doors. Because someone once told them:
“Real men don’t cry.”
“Be strong.”
“Get over it.”

No.

Real men feel.
Real men struggle.
Real men break.
And real men rise again.

There comes a moment in every man’s life when strength is no longer about what he can lift, but what he can no longer carry.

This image is of that moment.

This is what we don’t post. This is what we don’t say. This is the unedited truth of a man who’s been pushed to the edge, not because he’s weak, but because he’s human.

We’ve been told to “man up,” “get over it,” and “stay strong.”
But tell me, how do you heal what you’ve never been allowed to feel?

How do you carry the weight of a world that never once asked?
“What are you going through?”

We are watching men, young kings and old soldiers, fall apart in silence. Smiling on the outside. Dying on the inside. Struggling under the pressure to protect, provide, lead, endure… while no one protects them.

Let me say this loud: You don’t have to die in silence.

“Sometimes the most powerful thing a man can do… is break.”
—Unknown

You are allowed to be tired.
You are allowed to feel lost.
You are allowed to cry.
You are allowed to fall apart, so you can put yourself back together, stronger, freer, truer.

This isn’t a weakness. This is your rebirth.

Scripture Reflection:

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
—Psalm 34:18

God never required perfection; He requires truth.
He’s not calling you to fake strength. He’s calling you back to yourself. To your healing. To your breath. To your voice.

This image is not a breakdown. It’s a turning point.

To My Brothers Young, Grown, and Gray:

You are not alone. You never were.
Let’s stop performing and start living.
Let’s stop pretending and start healing.
Let’s stop surviving and start becoming whole.

Be man enough to break.
Be brave enough to rise.

For every man who’s still here, still breathing, still trying… this is for you.

    Thank you sis,
    Beautifully written.
We now live in a world system, full of contradictions.

It takes brave voices, to speak truths in the face of so-called new societal norms, which are ruining not building.
One brother once said to me, he wasn’t taught how to be a man and father.
I heard him and felt his pain, and there are answers to that conundrum, which I have shared and will continue to share in the future.

You have empathy and understanding, which qualifies you, enough.
However, in a world, where everyone is afraid to be incorrectly labelled, by the loud minority.
It takes a brave soul to stand up and speak truths, no matter how much it upsets some.

    Two things.
    * Be strong, can be used for men, but men need to understand that it involves, being vulnerable at times, and being able to ask for assistance.
To paraphrase what Mae said in one of her posts.
Being strong, also requires a softness, of sort, to enable us to be flexible enough to bend in the winds of a storm, and not completely break.

    * Man-up, can also be used for men, if men realise, it doesn’t mean becoming violent to others, especially women.
It doesn’t mean playing the field, giving our power away, and abusing ourselves, or multiple women, when we are struggling with identity, self-worth, or sexuality.
If men realise, manning-up, can also mean, being honest, and being able to ask for help, when we need it.

Above all, men need to realise the masculinity we have, are for very good reasons, which can only be fully understood, when we yield to our creator, Abba Yeshua, the EL-Shaddai.

As a man, I could go on, I am the eldest of 8, having 6 sisters and 1 brother.
I’m the eldest of 20 plus grand-children on my dad’s side and the 4th eldest of 30 plus grand-children of my mum’s side.
I have 3 sons and 3 daughters, and I know the importance of being man enough to break and strong enough to rise.

While women in general are always more willing to sit and break bread, I’m always here for the men too.
I like how you described us, young, grown and gray, I’m here for all, but will never beg or chase anyone.
A real man must be able to trust enough, and identity, when another man is available to help, not harm.

    Thank you for your support.

    Much love.xx

I feel this deeply thank you for speaking it out loud. It really is intimidating to some when you show up with clarity, honesty, and strength, especially if that kind of energy hasn’t been nurtured or welcomed in their circles. But that doesn’t mean we should shrink ourselves.

I respect your unapologetic stance. It takes guts to live unmasked and unfiltered, especially in a world that often rewards performance over truth. And I’m genuinely glad May 2025 brought that confirmation for you sometimes the world shows us just enough to keep the fire going.

You’re right open, honest communication isn’t dead. It’s just quieter now, less flashy, and often overshadowed by the louder trends of avoidance and cancellation. But those of us who still choose connection over convenience? We see each other. We celebrate each other.

So yes here for it too. All of it. Whether in full agreement or not, I’m here for the real ones. Let’s keep showing up.
