In a world that often measures value by what we own, I’ve come to understand that the most treasured things in life are not those with a price tag — they’re the ones tied to our healing, our memories, and our faith.

As a God-fearing mother of four, a nurse, a writer, and someone still becoming, I hold a few belongings incredibly close to my heart. Not because of what they are, but because of what they mean.

1. My Journals

They are worn, tear-stained, and sometimes hard to read — but they hold my truth. In these pages live my prayers, my battles with denial, my breakthroughs, and the rawest parts of my journey. Writing has always been my lifeline, and these journals remind me how far I’ve come.

2. Photos of My Children

They’re more than just snapshots. They are moments of joy, growth, struggle, and grace. Being their mother is the most sacred part of my story. These photos remind me of my “why” — why I chose healing, why I wrote my book, why I keep going.

3. My Manuscript

I’m currently finishing my first book, Beyond the Shadows: A Memoir of Resilience and Healing, and working on my second, Act II: Embracing the Self. The printed pages, notes, and highlighted edits are more than a project — they’re evidence of survival, of finding my voice, and of transforming pain into purpose.

4. My Bible

My faith has been the foundation of my healing. This Bible — underlined, bookmarked, and sometimes tear-soaked — has traveled with me through the darkest nights. It continues to be my compass, reminding me of who I am and Whose I am.

5. A Letter From My Father

We’ve had a complicated story, but one letter changed something in me. It was a small step toward reconciliation, a moment of acknowledgment. I keep it not just as a memory, but as a symbol that healing is always possible — even in places we once thought were broken forever.
